Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Paul Beilfuss met with a large group of senior citizens this week at Oak Crest Retirement Center in DeKalb. The superintendent, along with ReNew Our Schools co-chair, Cohen Barnes, provided information about the upcoming referendum on Tuesday, February 5th and answered questions. The district is conducting dozens of meetings with various groups in the communities of Cortland, DeKalb, and Malta. "We want every resident to have each question about the referendum answered to the best of our ability," said Dr. Beilfuss. "We are reaching out to every segment of the population in all three communities. We encourage folks to visit the district web site at: www.dist428.org, or the ReNew Our Schools site at www.VoteYes428.org. Both sites contain considerable detail about nearly every possible aspect of the proposal," he added.
The district referendum section includes a property tax impact calculator that will inform property onwers of their additional tax if the referendum is successful. A similar calculator is availble for persons owning agricultural property. |
