| The following information came from the office of the DeKalb
County State's Attorney during spring 2000:
Laws in the State of Illinois related to curfew for individuals 16 and
younger:
Illinois laws prohibits a person less than 17 years of age to be in
any public place or street :

after midnight on Friday

after midnight on Saturday

after 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday
Minors (persons less than 17) are allowed to be out after those
hours only if they are accompanied by
a.) a parent;
b.) a legal guardian; or
c.) other responsible companion at least 18, who is approved by the
parent or legal guardian; or
d.) if the minor is engaged in a business or occupation which state
laws authorize a person less than 17 to perform.
For a minor less than 17 years old, a driver's license is invalid after 10:00 p.m. Sunday though Thursday,
and 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, until 6:00 a.m.
